Earth System Science - Webinar

Our planet is a complex, interconnected web of processes that span scales, from rural landscapes to urban centers. To achieve sustainability, we need to understand these systems holistically and foster collaboration across disciplines. Earth Observation (EO) is a powerful tool that helps us to monitor and understand processes and assess human impacts and will be introduced to participants in this interactive webinar.

ANW Portal Update + AMA

Every other Thursday, 13:00 CET · 45 minutes · Online · Free A round-up of everything that moved on the Action Network Worldwide portal, followed by an open floor. We start with a welcome for anyone joining for the first time and a quick orientation — where to find what, and how the pieces fit together. Then the round-up: new features, new partnerships, the numbers behind the network, and member picks worth a look, from open calls to funding to platforms outside our own. Each session takes one topic and looks at it properly. We close with what's coming next, then hand over to you. The second half is yours: bring questions about the platform, about your own work on it, or about anything you'd like to see us build. No question is too basic — a good share of the room is new. Who it's for Members who want more out of the platform, and anyone outside it weighing up whether to join. No prior knowledge assumed. Good to know Slides are shared after every session, so it's fine to miss one. Come with your camera off if you'd rather just listen. Calling community projects: Pilot a new tool for verifying impact through community responses

We're opening a closed beta and looking for a few pilot projects. The tool turns community responses into evidence for impact claims - offline-first, provider-agnostic, built for smaller and mid-size programs where external auditing isn't practical. People are the sensors; a phone in the field is the instrument. As a pilot, you run real community assessments, get early access and direct support setting up, and your feedback shapes what gets built. Looking for projects with an impact claim that needs community-side verification, working with tight budgets or limited timelines, and willing to test something still in development. Interested? Looking for a Platform Evangelist for ANW Portal

We're looking for a Platform Evangelist (Community & Outreach Lead) to serve as ANW's public voice — getting the word out to the communities, platforms, and people who should know about ANW but don't yet. This is an AI-assisted PR and outreach role. Visibility and credibility in the outside world are the primary goals; internal community engagement matters too. What you'd be doing: - Manage and grow ANW's presence across social media channels - Write and publish blog content that speaks to practitioners, not to brand guidelines - Show up in the spaces where our kind of people already gather — forums, communities, events - Run cold outreach to journalists, potential members, speakers, and partners - Handle light content curation to keep ANW's presence consistent and relevant - Curate and oversee the Opportunity Marketplace and help improve the quality - Represent ANW's voice in a way that sounds like a person, not a press release - Be flexible about taking on new challenges as the platform grows What we're looking for: - You work with AI tools hands-on, day to day — not just occasionally. We use Claude and Claude Cowork for file and task workflows, so direct experience there is a strong plus - You know how to prompt well, catch hallucinations, and treat AI output as a starting point rather than a finished product - You write clearly and directly. No "thought leadership" — just posts that sound like someone who actually cares about the subject - Cold outreach doesn't faze you. If reaching out to strangers energises rather than drains you, that's a good sign - You understand what grassroots organisations actually need — small groups, informal networks, practitioners working with limited resources in places that rarely make it onto mainstream funding radars. That's who ANW is built for A note on compensation: This role is currently up to 10 hours a week and pro bono. We track hours from day one, and if funding comes in, the intention is to pay for them retroactively — but we can't promise that. Think of it as a possibility we're working toward, not a guarantee. The first three months are a trial for both sides. If you want to help shape what this role becomes, that's the point. The future of ANW is bright and open and you can be part of it. Interested? Write us on any channel or directly to support@actionnetwork.world
